After the qualifying competition
in November 2015 was over, the countdown to UEFA EURO 2016 began. It’s been
around 7 months since football fanatics from all around the world are waiting
for the most-awaited UEFA EURO 2016. But, they don’t need to wait any longer
now as the stage for the Euro 2016’s biggest kick-off has been set up, and the
top 24 European teams have geared up to present a stern challenge. Just a
couple of days to go from today onwards when the 24 teams will be face-to-face
in European championship 2016.
UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifying
Contested amongst 53 European
teams, the qualifying round ended up in November 2015 declaring final 24
participants for UEFA Euro 2016. Amongst all qualifying teams, France, England,
Czech Republic and Italy have qualified for a European championship 8 times
before Euro 2016. Four teams, including Iceland, Northern Ireland, Wales and
Slovakia will make their debut first time in the tournament. Spain, Russia and
Germany, on the other hand, will take part in a European championship 10th,
11th and 12th times respectively. Being the host, France
automatically qualified for the tournament.
Excitement is mounting ahead of
the European championship 2016. France will be the country to host the
tournament. Though the tournament has a long way to go (from 10th
June to 10th July), it’s difficult to forecast which team will win
the cup. Each team in the tournament has its own strengths and weaknesses. Some
are armed with young talent, while others have a plenty of experienced players
in their squad. This would be interesting to see whether the unsung heroes will
outweigh or experienced players will dominate the tournament as usual. Come
what may, UEFA EURO 2016 will sure to demonstrate a tough competition between
young and experienced players. When talking about the potential winner, it’s
too early to predict anything. The team that performs consistently well in the
tournament will have more chances to win.
